(Mar. 20, 2016)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's golf squad returned to action after being dormant for nearly five months on Sunday, opening the lid on the spring season by besting Carthage College by six strokes in the Desert Shootout at Aguila Golf Course. The two-man scramble format saw the Rangers tally a team score of 256 while the Red Men shot a 262.

Kyle Kolberg and
Zach Haman combined forces to win the event, shooting a 62. The duo logged a four-under 32 before shaving two strokes off the final nine holes to earn medalist honors with the 10 under score.
Ian Nebendahl and
Daniel DePrey tied with Carthage's top tandem for second, logging a 63 while
Kaden Gorman and
Danny Wojtowicz placed fifth with a 65.
Holden Ohlsen and
Sean Sanguansap finished a stroke back in sixth carding a 66.
