TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (Feb. 22, 2016)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside softball squad earned a bit of redemption on Monday, finishing off its foray in the Sooner State with a 9-7 victory over host Northeastern State University in a marathon 10-inning contest at RiverHawks Park.

The Rangers (2-7) exploded for five runs in the top of the 10th inning to secure the win to close out the NSU Softball Festival, avenging yesterday's 4-3 walkoff defeat to the same squad.

International tiebreaker rules went into effect in the 10th inning with Rachel Seefeldt leading off the frame with a double to left center, scoring Paige Schmittling who was placed on second to start the inning. Kellie Fenza reached base on a single before Carly Dundee drew a walk to load the bases. Raegan Fingerman made the RiverHawks pay the next at-bat, crushing a grand slam over the right field wall to give UW-Parkside the 9-4 edge.

The RiverHawks (10-5) plated three runs in the bottom of the 10th, including a two-run home run from Ryan Martin before the Rangers' induced a flyout for the final out to net the squad's second victory in three days.

UW-Parkside opened the scoring in the second inning with Emily Bell stealing home. Northeastern State answered in the bottom of the frame, pushing across a pair of runs to take the lead.

The Rangers reclaimed the lead in the fifth, receiving RBI singles from Kellie Fenza and Bell to take the 3-2 edge. NSU added a run in the bottom of the fifth, tying the game at five.

Neither team was able to generate runs in either the sixth or seventh innings to force extras for the second time in three days. Dundee belted in a run in the eighth to take the lead before NSU matched the Rangers with a run of their own to extend the game. Neither team broke through in the ninth before the Rangers' exploded for five runs in the 10th.

UW-Parkside generated 16 hits during the game with Madison Manders, Fenza, and Bell leading the way with three hits apiece.

Dundee was a workhorse in the circle for the Rangers, logging all 10 innings and striking out four while allowing just four earned runs. NSU's Kayce Wooldridge was tagged with the loss, striking out eight and yielding seven earned runs in 10 innings of labor.

UW-Parkside is back on the diamond on Wednesday, facing off against Winona State University in a twinbill inside the Rochester Dome.
