(Feb. 14, 2016)-- An eight-run seventh inning undermined the University of Wisconsin-Parkside baseball team on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 10-2 decision to host Barry University to close out the four-game series at Feinbloom Field.

The host Buccaneers (6-2) utilized a sacrifice fly in the opening inning to stake a 1-0 edge before pushing across another run in the fifth for the two-run buffer.

The Rangers (1-3) got on the board in the top of the seventh with
Bryan Wade getting things started with a pinch hit leadoff single down the right field line. Wade advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches before crossing the plate on a
Zach Cunningham RBI groundout.

Barry piled on eight runs in the bottom of the frame, cranking out four hits while collecting three walks, two hit batters, and one error to seize the 10-1 lead.

Lovell Chandler drove in pinch runner
Matt Skarzynski in the top of the ninth but the visitors were unable to generate any more runs, closing the series with a loss.

Tyler Jandron suffered the loss for the Rangers, tossing the first six innings and striking out eight while allowing just two earned runs.
Nicholas Rana closed out the game on the bump, tossing 1 1/3 innings of scoreless ball while fanning three of the five batters her faced.

Barry's Daniel Broeseker collected the win, striking out six and allowing one earned run in six innings of action.

The Rangers return to the diamond on Mar. 4, facing Quincy University at 1 p.m. (Eastern Time) in Louisville, Kentucky.
