SOMERS, Wis. -- Having played two of its better games all season last week, the Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball team returns to DeSimone Gymnasium for a non-conference battle with Indiana Northwest on Monday (Dec. 19) at 5 p.m.
The Rangers routed Trinity Christian 83-39 for their first win of the season on Dec. 8 and then dropped a tight 74-62 decision to Lewis on Dec. 11 in Romeoville, Ill. Wisconsin-Parkside led by five points in the third quarter against Lewis before the Flyers rallied for the victory.
Wisconsin-Parkside is averaging 72.5 points per game in the last two contests and shot 34.0 percent from the three-point line and 82.1 percent from the free throw line against Trinity Christian and Lewis. The Rangers shot a season-high 45.6 percent from the floor against Trinity Christian and collected a season-best 49 rebounds and then made a season-high 10 three-point baskets against Lewis.
Asiah Lawson averaged 11.5 points per contest in the Rangers two most recent games, while
Shelby Cheston averaged 9.0 points and 6.0 rebounds.
Indiana Northwest enters the game with an 11-3 overall record, pending the result of its game against Governors State on Dec. 15, and is ranked 12th in the nation in the NAIA Division II poll.
Wisconsin-Parkside leads the all-time series with the RedHawks 5-0.
