ResultsSOMERS, Wis. (Feb. 4, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling team lost their final home matchup against University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 24-14 at the DeSimone Gymnasium, and the traveling Sake Bottle trophy heads back to Whitewater.

The Rangers were trailing 7-0 after the first two matches, when heavyweight (285-pounds)
Matt Halverson was able to score a 5-3 decision. Two matches later
Joseph Her (133-pounds) was also able to secure an overtime decision of 5-3, but the green and white continued to trail the Warhawks throughout the dual.

The highlight of the night for Parkside was in the final match of the evening.Â
Brett Scoles (174-pounds) nearly pinned his opponent in a majority decision win, 14-4.

Prior to the match, the team honored its three departing seniors.Â
Aaron Heidersheid,
Zach Noel, and
Jake Papke were recognized for their contributions to the team during their tenure at UW-Parkside. Aaron (149-pounds) capped off his career with a final win at home, winning his match in a 16-8 majority decision.

The Rangers finish their regular season this Saturday at UW-Eau Claire for the BluGold Open. Then the team will prepare for the NCAA Super Regionals at the end of month.
