(Dec. 18, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball squad opened up the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic with a bang on Friday, steamrolling Concordia University (Oregon) 65-43 inside Brougham Pavilion.
Tara Knapstein tallied a double-double as the Rangers led wire-to-wire and limited the Cavaliers to shooting just 26.7 percent from the floor.

Stephanie Furr layup gave the Rangers (6-3) the early 5-0 advantage just under two minutes into the game. UW-Parkside's lead expanded to double digits at 13-3 off a
Shelby Cheston layup, enjoying a 16-7 edge at the conclusion of the opening period. The Ranger lead continued to expand in the second period, taking a 38-21 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Parkside owned a 17-point buffer the entire second half, leading by as many as 25 points in the neutral site victory.

Kristin Conniff led all scorers with 16 points, shooting six-for-10 from the field while Knapstein collected her first double-double of the 2015-2016 campaign, scoring 11 points with 10 rebounds.
Stephanie Furr added nine points with five assists and three steals while Cheston and
Bailey North each grabbed seven rebounds.

Lexi Campbell was the lone Cavalier (2-7) in double figures, chipping in 10 points off the bench while McKenna Daly contributed seven points.

The Rangers shot 40 percent (24-for-60) from the field while holding the Cavaliers to shooting a paltry 26.7 percent (16-for-60). UW-Parkside controlled the paint with a 50-37 rebounding edge and owned a 28-16 edge in points in the paint.

The Green and White close out the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic tomorrow evening, facing host Seattle Pacific University at 7 p.m. (Pacific Time).
