LEBANON, Ill. (Nov. 18, 2015)-- The 16th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling squad absorbed its first dual match defeat of the season on Wednesday night, getting edged 19-17 by host McKendree University inside the Statham Center.
 
The visiting Rangers (1-1) seized an early lead, winning the opening two matches of the night. James Lehman got things started for the Green and White, prevailing 11-6 at 184 pounds while Josh Anthony grinded out a 3-0 victory at the 197-pound weight class. Ronzel Darling claimed a 5-2 decision at 125-pounds but the homestanding Bearcats (1-0) won the next four bouts to grab the lead.
 
Nick Fishback netted a 17-1 tech fall victory at 165-pounds while Nick Becker closed the match with an 8-1 decision at 174-pounds but it was not enough as the Rangers ultimately fell to McKendree 19-17.
 
The Rangers return to the mat on Saturday, making the short trek to Mequon, Wisconsin for the Concordia Open.
