Box Score

SOMERS, Wis. (Oct. 25, 2015)-- Calamity struck with 54 seconds left in double overtime as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer team suffering a 1-0 setback to 12th-ranked Rockhurst University on Sunday afternoon in a Great Lakes Valley Conference clash at Wood Road Field.

The gritty Rangers (5-8-3, 5-6-3 GLVC) held the national-ranked Hawks (12-1-2, 12-1-1 GLVC) off the scoreboard for almost 110 minutes, falling just 54 seconds shy of securing a tie. The loss significantly muddied UW-Parkside's postseason ambitions as the Rangers now sit a half game back of the eighth and final GLVC Tournament spot. 12 GLVC teams are still alive and vying for a postseason spot with one game left in the regular season.

RU's Kaleb Jackson provided the game's lone score, collecting a rebound off a shot from Adam Michel in the 110th and final minute of the contest.

Neither squad was able to penetrate the goalmouth in the 90 minutes of regulation with the Rangers holding the Hawks at bay despite being outgunned by a 23-2 margin. The tide turned in the first 10-minute overtime session with four of the seven shots attempted coming off the boots of Ranger players, including a strike on goal from Scott Nicolai that was arguably Parkisde's best chance of the game.

Rockhurst collected all four shots in double overtime, finishing the game with a 30-6 advantage in shots, including 13 of the 14 on frame.

Parkside goalkeeper Remi Bibal tallied a career-high 11 saves in 110 minutes of work while Rockhurst's Logan Feldmann made one save to earn the clean sheet.

Sunday's game was Senior Day with the program honoring Eric Moser, Szymon Owczarek, Kawsu Samba, Elliott Schultz, and Mathew Yang in a pre-match ceremony.

The Rangers close out the regular season on Wednesday night, battling GLVC nemesis Lewis University at 7:30 p.m.
