(Oct. 2, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer squad suffered its second consecutive overtime heartbreaker on Friday night, falling victim to a goal in the 97th minute in a 2-1 setback to Great Lakes Valley Conference rival McKendree University at Leemon Field.
McKendree's Alexander Kunz provided the decisive score, netting his first goal of the year in the seventh minute of overtime off a Callum Kiddell assist to complete the comeback.
The Rangers (3-5-1, 3-3-1 GLVC) struck first with
Scott Nicolai collecting his third goal of the season in the seventh minute, beating the keeper with a blast from 30 yards out on a free kick.
UW-Parkside owned a tenuous 1-0 lead until the 76th minute when the Bearcats' (4-4, 4-3 GLVC) Felipe Thompson hit a laser from 40-yards out to equalize the score.
Mckendree ended the contest with a 19-13 advantage in shots, including a 9-6 edge in shots on frame.

Remi Bibal had a busy night, making seven saves in 97 minute of labor while his counterpart, Scott Armistead, made five stops to earn the victory.
The Rangers return to the pitch on Sunday, facing the University of Illinois Springfield at 2:30 p.m.
