COLUMBUS, Ohio (Nov. 20, 2014)-- Utilizing a big second half, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball squad remained perfect on the season, collecting win number three at the expense of host Ohio Dominican University, rallying to the 69-59 win in a non-conference clash on Thursday evening inside Alumni Hall.

The host Panthers (1-2) scored the opening five points of the contest and eight of the first 12, owning a 10-2 edge just under five minutes into the game. Ohio Dominican's lead ballooned to 11 off a Darin Rose layup with 12:38 left in the opening stanza before the Rangers (3-0) began chipping away at the deficit.UW-Parkside scored 11 of the next 13 points, crawling within a possession after Gaby Bronson converted a layup with 7:21 left in the half. 

A Justine Boerger layup tied the game at 21-21 with 4:22 left in the first half but the hosts scored the next seven points to reestablish their lead. The Rangers closed to within one and entered the halftime break trailing by three at 32-29.

UW-Parkside netted the opening six points of the second half to secure its first lead of the ballgame and never looked back in the 10-point win. Tara Knapstein opened the half by sinking a pair of free throws before a Jessica Prince layup gave the Rangers the 33-32 advantage. Parkside extended its advantage to double digits with 9:32 left off a Kristin Conniff jumper and maintained at least a seven point buffer the rest of the way.

Jennifer Blunt came off the bench and led the Rangers, dropping 17 points in just 16 minutes of action while grabbing seven boards. The senior center was unstoppable from the field, hitting all eight of her field goal attempts. Conniff generated 16 points off the bench while Prince was the third Ranger in double figures, collecting 10 points. Bronson distributed a game-high eight assists while scoring nine points.

Kacee Hockenberry paced Ohio Dominican with 18 points while Melissa Scherpenberg had a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

UW-Parkside finished the game shooting 50 percent from the floor (25-for-50), including a red-hot 63.2 percent (12-for-19) in the second half of action. Ohio Dominican shot just 31.9 percent (22-for-69) on the game, including a paltry 26.3 percent (10-for-38) in the second stanza.

The Rangers enjoyed a big day from its bench, which scored 39 of the squad's 69 points while owning a 44-36 rebounding advantage.

UW-Parkside continues its tour of Ohio on Saturday, taking on Tiffin University at 1 p.m.
