Southern Indiana tallied a run in the fifth to close the gap to 3-2 but the Rangers extended the buffer back to two in the seventh with Mott walking in a run with two outs and the bases loaded.

USI mounted one final lunge in the bottom of the ninth, loading the bases and scoring a run before Jacob Chandler tallied the final out to earn the save, coming in relief for Josh Hudnut, who struck out five in eight innings of action to earn the win.
