LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Mar. 29, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside baseball squad closed out its weekend series against Bellarmine University on Saturday, suffering a pair of setbacks in a Great Lakes Valley Conference twinbill at Knights Field. The Rangers dropped a 4-1 decision in game one before faltering 13-3.

Six errors derailed the Rangers (0-10, 0-8 GLVC) in the opener, allowing three unearned runs in the contest. Bellarmine (12-9, 7-3 GLVC) began the scoring in the first, pushing across a pair of runs.

UWP cut the gap to just one, scoring a run in the third inning. Andrew Hosford singled through the left side with two outs, bringing in Derek Tuttle.

BU solidified its lead with unearned runs in the seventh and ninth innings to earn the win.

Josh Hudnut tossed 8 1/3 innings for the Rangers and absorbed the loss while Benjamin Fuchs earned the win, striking out five in 5 2/3 innings of action.

Andrew Mott led the Ranger offense, finishing the opening game two-for-three at the plate.

Errors continued to hurt UW-Parkside in game two, yielding eight unearned runs in the nightcap.

Bellarmine scored a pair of runs in the opening two innings to stake a 4-0 lead. The Knights tacked on three more in the third while pushing across four in the fourth inning for the 11-0 lead. BU's advantage swelled to 13 with two runs in the top of the seventh before fending off a late Ranger charge in the bottom of the seventh.

Taylor Nehls opened the inning by drawing a walk, eventually scoring on a Shane Hayes sacrifice fly to center field. A Zach O'Haver single plated Chris Glynn who got on base with a double while Shaun Lena tallied the frame's third scoring, coming in on a Zach Cunningham fielder's choice.

Josh Geiger suffered the loss for UWP on the mound, allowing four earned runs in six innings of work.
