SOMERS, Wis. (Feb. 21, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball team closed out its regular season home schedule in style on Thursday night, leading wire-to-wire in a 72-40 victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division rival Saint Joseph's College on Senior Night inside DeSimone Gymnasium. Danielle Slivka tallied her third double-double of the season while three more Rangers finished in double figures.

The Rangers (17-7, 11-5 GLVC), winners of eight of their last nine, scored the opening eight points of the game. The Pumas (1-23, 0-16 GLVC) rattled off the next four before UW-Parkside mounted 16 of the next 19 points to take a 17-point lead with 2:58 remaining in the opening half. The Rangers enjoyed a 26-11 lead at the halftime break, holding SJC to shooting a paltry 21.7 percent (five-for-23) from the floor.

UW-Parkside exploded out of the gate after halftime, utilizing a 17-2 run to swell the lead to 30 points with 13:38 remaining. The home side enjoyed at least a 26-point buffer the rest of the way en route to the 32-point victory.

Slivka paced the Rangers with 13 points and 12 rebounds, hitting five of her six shots from the field. Jenna Endisch collected 13 points and four assists while Tara Knapstein and Kiah Simon both finished with 10 points. Sierra West dished out a game-high six assists while Jaleesa Trussell grabbed nine rebounds and scored eight points.

Tonisha Sanders paced the Pumas with 15 points. Kiki Wilson added nine while Courtney Kvachkoff added seven points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Rangers owned the glass, holding a 50-18 rebounding edge, including 17 boards on the offensive end while holding a 22-2 edge in second chance points. UWP shot just 32.3 percent (10-for-31) in the opening 20 minutes before scorching the nets in the second half, shooting 66.7 percent (18-for-27) from the field and 50 percent (six-for-12) from three-point range.

UW-Parkside hits the road to close out the regular season, facing the University of Indianapolis on Saturday with tipoff slated for 12 p.m.
