LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 6, 2013)--A pair of goals in the opening half, derailed the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday afternoon, falling 2-0 to host Bellarmine University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference men's soccer clash at Frazier Stadium.
The host Knights (6-2-2, 4-2-2 GLVC) opened the scoring in the 30th minute with Kai Qualah tallying a goal before doubling the advantage 49 seconds before the half with Jared Kemper scoring off a corner kick with Brycen Howard earning the assist.
Neither squad was able to score in the second stanza with the Rangers (5-4-1, 4-4 GLVC) owning a 7-5 edge in shots as Bellarmine finished the contest with a 14-12 advantage in shots including a slim 5-4 edge in shots on frame.
Remi Bibal and
Marcos Perez split time in goal for the Rangers. Perez tallied 59 minutes of action, making two saves while Bibal made three saves and allowed a pair of goals in 31 minutes of play. BU's Blake Hunter tallied four saves to secure the clean sheet.
The Rangers return to action on Friday, hosting the University of Illinois Springfield at 3:30 p.m.
