LEBANON, Ill. (Oct. 4, 2013)-- Austin Robb scored a goal with 28 seconds left, lifting the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory on Friday night at Leemon Field, downing host McKendree University for the Rangers' third straight win.

Robb emerged as the hero in the waning moments, scoring his first goal of the season on a strike in the 90th minute.

"It was a wild finish. We've faced a lot of tests on the road so far and we had leads in each of the previous three road games," said head coach Jason Zitzke. "When you're on the road you need to find a way to persevere and we did that."

"It was a great effort by Ryan Yang. He sliced through the defense and had a beautiful serve and Robb got just enough on it with seconds to play."

Antonio Gonzalez opened the scoring in the 11th minute, finding the back of the net off a feed from Ryan Yang. The visiting Rangers (5-3-1, 4-3 GLVC) doubled the advantage early in the second stanza with Ryan Shogren netting his third goal of the year in the 54th minute off a corner kick.

The host Bearcats (2-6-1, 0-6-1) answered in the 59th minute with Alex Ridsdale scoring off a CJ Cerna assist. Ridsdale netted the equalizer just eight minutes later, converting a penalty kick.

McK finished the match with a 20-18 edge in shots. The Bearcats owned a 12-8 edge in shots at the half before the Rangers held a slim 10-8 edge in strikes in the second 45 minutes of action.

Marcos Perez earned the win in goal, playing all 90 minutes and recording six saves. His counterpart, Scott Armistead logged all but the final 26 seconds of the match, yielding three goals and making three saves.

"Perez made some huge saves in the second half making some acrobatic saves that should have been goals."

The Rangers continue their road swing on Sunday, facing Bellarmine University at 1:30 p.m.
