ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 30, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer squad saw its season come to a close on Wednesday night, falling 4-0 to 14th-ranked Lewis University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Lewis Stadium.
The host Flyers (12-1-4, 11-1-3 GLVC) opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with Ivan Surlina scoring a header goal off a feed from Lenin Roa-Tapia. Homestanding Lewis doubled its edge four minutes later courtesy of Robert Zieba before taking a 3-0 lead in the 39th minute off a shot by Luke Comerouski.
The Flyers' Lukasz Szczesniak concluded the scoring with an insurance goal in the 72nd minute.
Marcos Perez logged the opening 72 minutes in goal for the Rangers (7-8-2, 6-8-1 GLVC), making four saves before giving way to
Remi Bibal who tallied one save and allowed no goals in the final 18 minutes of action.
Lewis's Alec Pickett and Omar Ramirez each played a half in goal, combining for eight saves and extending the squad's shutout streak to 370 minutes.
