SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Oct 25, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer squad saw its eight-game unbeaten run come to a close on Friday evening, falling 2-0 to Drury University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference clash at Harrison Stadium.
Mariah Gove proved to be a thorn in the side of the Rangers (10-3-2, 8-3-2 GLVC) all night, accounting for both goals in the contest. Gove scored in the 17th minute off a feed from Sarah Duffy and struck again in the 71st minute with Shelby Hatz providing the assist for the homestanding Panthers (8-5-3, 6-4-3 GLVC).
UW-P outshot Drury 13-8 in the contest including a 3-2 advantage in shots on frame.
Goalkeeper
Mallory Geurts collected two saves in the losing effort while Drury's Kelsey Vaught secured the shutout, making three saves in the game.
The loss snaps the UW-Parkside win streak at five games and its unbeaten run at eight (7-0-1).
The Rangers return to action on Sunday, facing Missouri University S&T at 12 p.m.
