SOMERS, Wis. (Sept. 28, 2012)-- A pair of goals in the opening half put the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer squad on the wrong end of a 2-0 affair on Friday afternoon against Bellarmine University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference showdown at Wood Road Field.
Robert Bowling opened the scoring for the visiting Knights (5-2-1, 4-1-1 GLVC), finding the back of the net in the 20th minute. Bellarmine doubled its lead 14 minutes later as Steve Seithel scored off a Jordan Beckles assist in the 34th minute of action in what proved to be the final score of the afternoon.
Collin Monahan and
Kinkade Lo provided the lone shots on target for UW-Parkside (3-5-1, 2-5 GLVC) as the Rangers were outgunned by a 20-7 margin during the contest.
Nick Huftalin had a busy day in goal for the Rangers, recording nine saves in 90 minutes of work while his counterpart, Blake Hunter, tallied the clean sheet after making two saves for the Knights.
The Rangers return to the pitch on Sunday, hosting McKendree University in a GLVC clash beginning at 12 p.m.
