EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 21, 2012)-- A goal nine minutes into overtime put the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team on the wrong end of a 2-1 affair against the University of Southern Indiana on Friday night in a Great Lakes Valley Conference showdown at Strassweg Field.

The Screaming Eagles (5-2, 4-1 GLVC) tallied the game's opening score just 40 seconds before halftime as Andrea Qualls scored unassisted in the 45 minute. The Rangers (3-3-1, 2-3 GLVC) evened the score in the 65th minute with Lauki'i Cheng beating the USI keeper off a Madison Pickett assist.

The two squads remained deadlocked after 90 minutes of action forcing a 10-minute sudden death overtime session. The host Eagles emerged on top in the extra session as Susan Ellsperman tallied the unassisted game-winner in the 99th minute.

UW-Parkside finished the contest with a 12-10 edge in shots, including a 7-5 advantage of shots on frame. The Rangers outgunned the Eagles 7-4 in the second half.

Michelle Girard logged three saves in the losing effort while USI's Jackie Lohmann turned away six shots on the night.

The Rangers continue their road swing on Sunday, facing Kentucky Wesleyan College at 2:30 p.m.
