SAINT LOUIS, Mo. (Oct. 7, 2012)-- Lauki'i Cheng tallied a pair of assists, helping the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team cruise to its fifth consecutive victory, downing the University of Missouri-Saint Louis 2-0 on Sunday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Don Dallas Field.
The Rangers (8-3-1, 7-3 GLVC) opened the scoring two minutes before the halftime intermission as
Megan Owens tallied her fourth score of the season in the 43rd minute off a feed from Cheng.
Emily Konior tacked on an insurance goal in the 76th minute, finding the back of the net off a Cheng assist.
UW-Parkside owned an 11-4 edge in shots, including taking all six shots in the second half while owning an 8-1 edge on shots on frame.
Michelle Girard made one save and recorded the shutout, her third straight as the Rangers have not allowed a goal in 302 minutes. The Tritons' Kaitlyn Smugala tallied five saves while conceding two goals.
The Rangers return to the pitch on Friday, hosting the University of Illinois-Springfield at 2:30 p.m. at Wood Road Field.
