Shannon Becker took the PK and buried it for the Parkside goal at 10:55.
The Rangers added to their lead a little less than ten minutes later on a great display of passing. Lauki'I Cheng played a ball from the top to Becker on the left wing who immediately played a long cross all the way to the right post.
Stephanie Barsuli finished the play, putting a clean header into the back of the net, making it 2-0.
From there on out the Rangers controlled possession but couldn't earn another goal. Parkside outshot the Saints, 29-7 on the day including 12-2 on shots on goal. Jena Casagrande made a handful of nice saves for Maryville (10 overall) and kept Parkside from adding to its lead.
The win moves Parkside into a three-way tie for second in the division, one game behind Bellarmine University. It also sets up a big road trip for the Rangers next weekend against two of the top teams in the league.
On Friday, the Rangers will head to Highland Heights to take on Northern Kentucky University at 6:30 p.m. (CST). Then on Sunday, Parkside will go to first place Bellarmine for an 11:00 a.m. (CST) kickoff. Be sure to check back later this week to find out how to follow the Rangers next weekend in Kentucky.
