The 15
th-ranked UW-Parkside women's basketball team rebounded in a big way Saturday with a 76-50 victory over Southern Indiana at the DeSimone Gymnasium. The Rangers sprinted out to a 33-11 lead and never looked back in moving to 1-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play and 6-2 overall. The Screaming Eagles dropped to 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.
Jadee Rooney led the way with 16 points moving her into sixth on the school's all-time list. She also contributed five assists.
Brittany Beyer and
Jenna Endisch each finished with 12 points.
Danielle Slivka had a team-high six rebounds.
Parkside immediately erased any concerns over a hangover from Thursday as they forced 14 first half turnovers and turned them into 21 points. The Ranger defense limited USI to 31.6% from the field in the first half while shooting a robust 58.6% themselves.
The Rangers also used a balanced attack to build a 44-19 lead in the first 20 minutes with eight players scoring led by
Jadee Rooney's ten points.
Brittany Beyer had eight,
Jenna Endisch seven, and
Amy Selk and
Cheryl Leyns had six.
There was no let down in the second half as the Rangers scored the first 13 points to push the lead to 57-19. From there Parkside closed the game without incident in winning their 39
th home game in 41 tries.
The Rangers offensive surge lasted all game as they shot 27-of-54 from the field, a 50% mark, and shot 5-of-10 from behind-the-arc. The Screaming Eagles show 15-of-38 from the field during the game, a 39.5% mark, while shooting 3-of-18 from the three-point range.

th when the Cardinal Stritch Wolves come to DeSimone Gymnasium. Cardinal Stritch stands at 8-3 this season. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
