The UW-Parkside women's soccer team's 2010 season did not begin the way they had wished, losing a 1-0 decision to non-conference foe Saginaw Valley State at Wood Road Field. The road season, and conference season, saw the Rangers reverse their fortunes.

Shannon Becker starred as the Rangers took their show to Rolla, Missouri, Sunday afteroon and topped homestanding Missouri S&T, 2-1.

Becker had both goals in the contest. She tallied 18:22 into the game to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead and scored what turned out to be the game winner at 58:54. Sandwiched in between was a Miner penalty kick goal off the foot of Morgan Lockowitz at 54:38.

Becker's first goal came from the top of the box and was unassisted. Her second goal was helped with an assist from Kelsey Armour.

The Miners put five shots on goal in the contest. The Rangers fired four, three from Becker.

Next up for the Rangers is a home game with Missouri-St. Louis, Friday, Sept. 10, at 3:30 p.m.
