Krista Kelly was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in softball.
Kelly paced UW-Parkside to a 6-2 record last week and helped the Rangers even their league record at 7-7. In the eight games, Kelly hit .571 with nine RBI, four runs, two doubles, two home runs and a .952 slugging percentage.
She opened the week with a 4-5 effort in the Rangers' split with Maryville on Wednesday. Kelly had two RBI, a run, double and home run in the two contests.
In the Rangers' sweep at Illinois-Springfield on Thursday, Kelly was 1-3 with two RBI.
The junior from Beaverton, Oregon, returned on Saturday to help UW-Parkside sweep Missouri-St. Louis. In the first game, Kelly was 2-2 with a pair of RBI and she finished the second game 2-5 with a double.
In Sunday's split with Southern Indiana, Kelly was 3-6 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored.
On the season, the catcher/designated "player" is hitting .356 with 25 RBI, seven runs, six doubles, five home runs and a .598 slugging percentage.
UW-Parkside (16-12) has won nine of its last 12 games and will face Lewis, Kentucky Wesleyan and Bellarmine this week.
