Quincy gets its revenge

The Quincy women's basketball team salvaged a season split with UW-Parkside after it handed the Rangers an 81-65 defeat in Quincy Monday night.

Each team is now 19-6 overall with two regular season games left to play. The Rangers are 11-5 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The Hawks are 10-6 in league action.

Parkside was limited to 37 percent shooting from the field. The Hawks shot 49 percent.

The Rangers led just once, by two, early in the game. The Hawks vaulted to a 42-25 buldge at halftime and led by as many as 22 three minutes into the second half.

Brittany Hogen and Brittany Beyer each had 16 points for the Rangers. Jadee Rooney came up with 11 points and Amanda Gibson tallied 10.

Courtney Shuman had a double-double for Quincy with 27 points and 11 rebounds.

The Rangers will close out the regular season with a pair of home games, the first of which will be against Saint Joseph's, Thursday, Feb. 18, at 5:30 p.m.
