The four-game road trip by the UW-Parkside women's basketball team was a success. After dropping the opening game at Bellarmine, the team rattled off three straight victories to conclude the swing. The final stop was at Saint Joseph's Saturday afternoon where the Rangers punished the Pumas, 77-49.

Parkside held Saint Joseph's to an unheard of statistic in the first half. The Pumas logged only six rebounds in the first 20 minutes of play. The Rangers ended up out-rebounding their hosts 39-22 and out-shooting them, percentage-wise, by a resounding 56-25 margin.

"The team bounced back well today," UWP head coach Jenny Kenesie told WRJN radio. "We had good balance in each part of our game."

The Rangers moved the ball well, registering 19 assists on their 27 buckets. The team used a dominant inside game, only taking four shots from behind the arc in the contest.

Brittany Beyer scored at will, making nine of her 11 shots underneath for a game-high 24 points. Brittany Hogen came up with a dozen points while teammates Jadee Rooney and Jen Moran tallied 11 and 10 respectively.

The win bumps the Ranger record to an impressive 13-2 overall. The team ascended to 5-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Pumas dropped to 3-11, 1-4.

The Rangers' next game will be at home. The team is set to host powerful Drury University Thursday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. Drury heads the West Division of the GLVC. See standings: http://www.glvcsports.org/index.aspx?tab=basketball2&path=wbball
