After winning the 22-team Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis last weekend, the UW-Parkside wrestling team moved from No. 8 in the country to No. 6 in the land.
The Rangers are tied for the sixth spot with Western State according to the Jan. 5
NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association poll. Nebraska-Omaha remains on top and Newberry, a school which was runner-up to the Rangers at the Midwest Classic, stays at No. 2.
Individually, four Ranger wrestlers are ranked nationally, led by
Craig Becker who is No. 2 at 149 pounds.
Other ranked Rangers include Luke Haag, who is fourth at 184 pounds;
Cody Zimmerman, who checks in at No. 6 at 125 pounds; and
Luke Rynish, who is eighth at 174.
UW-Parkside will compete in the NCAA II National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 9-10.
The lone remaining home date is Wednesday, Jan. 20. NCAA Division III UW-Stevens Point will be in the DeSimone Gymnasium with a 7:00 p.m. scheduled start time.
