It took only 15 minutes and 10 seconds for the UW-Parkside women's soccer team to notch a goal, which was the game-winner. The team tacked on two more and walked away from Maryville University in St. Louis with a decisive 3-0 win.
The victory upped the Ranger record to 3-0-1 overall. The 16th-ranked squad is 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
GLVC newcomer Maryville is 1-3 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Kristen Benson scored the initial goal, unassisted, as were all the Ranger markers.
The score stood at 1-1 at halftime.
The visitors tallied at 64:40 and 67:22 in the second half on goals by
Shannon Becker and
Madison Pickett.
Cassie Glodowski made three saves in net for the Rangers. Parkside had 10 shots on goal for the game, compared to five for the Saints.
The Rangers will stay in St. Louis to take on Missouri-St. Louis Sunday afternoon. The team returns home to tackle Southern Indianan Friday, Sept. 18, at 1:15 p.m.
