Great "regular" season ends at 18-9

So far, the Ranger women's basketball team has posted the second most wins in school history at 18, but, there is more basketball to play beyond Game 27.

UW-Parkside lost the regular season finale at Indianapolis, 77-70. The Greyounds swept the season series, giving the Rangers exactly half of their conference losses. UW-Parkside ended with a 14-4 record in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The team is 18-9 overall as it heads into post season play.

The entire tournament will be played at Quincy University, starting Friday. The Rangers will play Missouri S&T at 8:30 p.m. Should the Rangers win, they will play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday versus the Quincy-Indianapolis winner.

Indianapolis vaulted to a 20-point lead at 40-20 with 2:30 left in the first half. The Rangers went on an 11-0 run to end the half, then scored the first bucket of the second half to cut the gap to 40-33.

The Greyhounds then pulled away to secure their 22nd win against 8 losses. Indianapolis still ended three games behind the Rangers in the league standings with an 11-7 record.

Brittany Hogen narrowly missed a double-double with 18 points and 9 rebounds. This, coming off 20 and 10 two days before.

Amanda Gibson and Jadee Rooney each scored 14 for the Rangers. UW-Parkside did well underneath, out-rebounding the 'Hounds, 35-27.
