Streak snapped with loss at Quincy

The UW-Parkside women's basketball all-time winning streak of 10 games was snapped in Quincy, Illinois, with a 71-54 loss to the homestanding Quincy University Hawks Thursday night.

Quincy vaulted to a 9-0 lead and never looked back. The Hawks led by as many as 22 points with 2:30 to go in the first half. The score at the break was 41-24 in favor of the Hawks.

The Rangers fought back and pulled to within six at 57-51 on a pair of free throws from Kaitlyn Bettiga with 5:23 left in the game. The Hawks then went on another 9-0 run to pull away.

Jessica Keller of Quincy led all scorers with 30 points. She led all rebounders as well, pulling down nine missed shots. She added four steals and three assists to go with her impressive stat line.

Amanda Gibson paced the Rangers on the scoresheet with 19 points.

UW-Parkside is now 10-5 overall and 6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy jumped to 13-3 overall and 5-1 in league play.

The Rangers look to start a new streak at Lewis Saturday at 1 p.m.
