Kayla Ming (Grayslake, Ill.) was a perfect 14-14 at the free throw line and led all scorers with 28 points to lead UW-Parkside to a 79-66 victory over Lake Superior State. The win was the second in as many days for the Rangers as part of the GLVC-GLIAC Challenge, held at the DeSimone Gymnasium.
Amanda Gibson totaled 14 points and Nicole Watzlawick (Hampshire, Ill) added a dozen. Watzlawick paced the Rangers in rebounds with eight.
The Rangers were 28-33 at the free throw line. The victors out-rebounded their guests, 32-27. Shooting percentages were similar with the Rangers shooting 49 percent from the floor and LSSU making good on 48 percent of their shots.
UW-Parkside will look at go 3-0 on the young season with a non-conference clash at Cardinal Stritch, Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. The game can be heard live on www.gatewaysportsweb.org
