Gregg Lewis

Gregg Lewis enters his sixth season as head coach in 2016-2017 and his 22nd season overall with the Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling program.

Since his arrival at Wisconsin-Parkside in 1995-96, the program has had 60 All-Americans, 14 national finalists, and six national champions. The team has also finished in the nation's top ten, 10 times since 2000. In his five seasons as head coach, the Rangers have 30 D2WCA All-Academic selections.

The Rangers had a banner campaign in 2015-16, posting a 9-2 dual record, highlighted by a 44-0 thrashing of rival UW-Whitewater to win the Sake Bottle Trophy while finishing second at both the Midwest Classic and the Pete Willson Invitational. Lewis's 2015-16 squad won the 14-team Midwest Super Regional for the first time in program history, netting four individual champions while securing four All-Americans and one National Champion (Nick Becker) at the National Championships, earning a seventh place finish.

In 2014-15, Lewis guided the Rangers to a 4-3 dual record while closing the season with seven D2WCA All-Academic selections and a 32nd place showing at the NCAA Division II Championships.

In 2012-13, Lewis led the Rangers to a 17th place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships with two wrestlers securing All-American honors. The Rangers had six athletes secure D2WCA All-Academic honors while the team ranked 19th nationally in team grade point average.

Lewis guided the Rangers to a 6-4 dual record in 2012-13, including a fourth place finish at the prestigious Cliff Keen/NWCA Duals. UW-Parkside defeated eventual national champion University of Nebraska-Kearney and nationally-ranked University of Findlay while also winning back the Sake Bottle Trophy in February with a victory over UW-Whitewater.

In his first season as head coach in 2011-12, Lewis led the Rangers to a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships with four wrestlers claiming All-American honors. Five wrestlers earned D2WCA All-Academic honors while Luke Rynish finished as the national runner-up in his weight class and was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-American Team.

Prior to his coaching career, Lewis was a standout wrestler at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He was 105-37 at UW-La Crosse, including back-to-back conference championships as a 167-pounder in 1990 and 1991, finishing his collegiate career 15th on the Eagles' all-time wins list. He earned NAIA All-American honors in 1991 by finishing sixth in the country in the 167-pound weight class.

Lewis resides in Greendale, Wis., with his wife Amy and children; Gabe and Chloe.
