The Great Lakes Valley Conference unveiled its Player of the Week winners on March 10 with University of Wisconsin-Parkside softball player Courtney Ellingson earned Hitter of the Week accolades.

Ellingson tallies the honor after sporting a .667 batting average inside the Husky Dome over the weekend, guiding the Rangers (4-9) to a pair of non-conference wins. The Sturtevant, Wisconsin, native finished two-for-three at the plate in Parkside's 1-0 extra innings setback to Minot State University on Saturday before belting two hits and driving in two runs along with notching the save inside the circle in a 6-5 victory over the University of Minnesota-Crookston in the nightcap. The freshman continued to hit the cover off the ball on Sunday, blasting a two-run home run against Minot State while finishing three-for-three at the plate in the squad's 9-0 whitewash of UM-Crookston to close the weekend.

The Racine Case High School graduate concluded the weekend with five extra base hits, including two home runs while driving in five runs and scoring six times. The southpaw pitched 15 innings for the Rangers, striking out 13 to earn a win and a save while sporting a 0.47 earned run average.

Through 13 games. Ellingson leads UW-Parkside at the plate, owning a .382 batting average and a .735 slugging percentage while posting a team-high 27 strikeouts in the circle.
