Karley Mecko tallied her second All-American certificate of the postseason on Dec. 5, landing a spot on the Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-America Team.
Mecko was recognized earlier in the week as Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-American, becoming the first Ranger since Shannon Becker in 2010 to earn All-America honors from both the NSCAA and Daktronics.
Mecko, a senior defender, earns a spot on the 12-player First Team after starting all 22 games for the Rangers, finishing second in both goals (eight) and points (18). The Crystal Lake, Illinois native, Mecko earned the GLVC Defender of the Year award while earning a spot on the NSCAA All-Region, Daktronics All-Region, All-GLVC, and CoSIDA Academic All-American First Teams, in addition to a spot on the Daktronics/DIICCA All-America Second Team. Mecko was additionally named the GLVC Defender of the Week twice and tallied a pair of game-winning goals during conference play.
The Rangers (18-1-3) won both the GLVC regular season and tournament titles while allowing just six goals all year en route to a NCAA Division II Sweet 16 appearance.
