The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its first Player of the Week award for the women's basketball season on Monday. Nov. 17 with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside's Gaby Bronson securing the honor.
 
Bronson claims the award after averaging 19.5 points per game, 8.0 assists per game, and 7.5 rebounds per game, guiding the Rangers to a 2-0 start and earning Co-MVP honors at the Highway 76 Classic.
 
The senior poured on 20 points to lead all scorers in the season opener on Nov. 14 against host Minnesota State University-Moorhead, helping the Rangers to the 70-61 win before notching a triple double the following night in an 82-64 win over the University of Minnesota-Crookston to conclude the tournament. The applied health science led the Rangers with 19 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds while sinking 11 free throws on the memorable night.
 
The Whitefish Bay native boasted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.2 for the week while shooting 50 percent from three-point range and 81 percent (17-for-21) from the charity stripe.
 
Bronson is the first Ranger to claim the GLVC honor since Jenna Endisch snagged the award on Dec. 20, 2012.
