The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its weekly award winners for cross country on Sept. 29 with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside's Moriah Palmer securing Runner of the Week accolades.

The criminal justice major claims the honor after placing runner-up in the Maroon Division II race on Sept. 26 at the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational. Palmer toured the 6,000-meter course around the Les Bolstad Golf Course in 22 minutes, 26.2 seconds, finishing second overall amongst a field of 371 runners. The junior sat in 11th place after the first mile and sat fifth overall midway through the race before making a move over the final 3,000-meters. Palmer's performance helped the 24th-ranked Rangers place fourth overall at the 37-team meet, scoring 153 points and placing above 19th-ranked Winona State University and sixth-ranked Augustana College.

The award was Palmer's second career GLVC Runner of the Week honor but her first during the cross country season after earning GLVC Indoor Track & Field Runner of the Week laurels on Jan. 22, 2015. She additionally is the first Ranger to claim cross country Runner of the Week honors since Jessica Watychowicz won the award on Oct. 9, 2012.
