Antonio Gonzalez is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
The junior forward finished the week with 11 points, scoring four goals and assisting on an additional three, helping the Rangers (2-0) demolish a pair of non-conference foes. Gonzalez started the season with a bang, netting a hat-trick against the University of Saint Francis in the season opener on Sept 4. The East Troy, Wisconsin native scored the eventual game-winner in the 11th minute against the Fighting Saints before striking again in the 21st minute of play. Gonzalez capped off the hat-trick with a goal in the 62nd minute in the 6-0 shutout win. He additional tallied an assist on
Abraham Kanneh's 26th minute goal.
Three days later against Robert Morris University-Lake County, the forward scored a goal with two assists in the 9-1 blowout victory. Gonzalez scored on a breakaway for the game's first goal in the 15th minute and earned assists on a pair of Kanneh goals, first in the 37th minute before connecting again in the 43rd minute.
UW-Parkside continues its homestand on Friday, opening up GLVC play at 1:15 p.m. at Wood Road Field against Missouri University S&T.
