SOMERS, Wis. (Nov. 24, 2012)-- University of Wisconsin-Parkside outside hitter Bridget Nickel added another award to her mantel this week, earning a spot on the American Volleyball Coaches Association's 14-player NCAA Division II All-Midwest Region Team.

Nickel is one of four outside hitters to earn a spot on the All-Midwest Region squad. The junior earns a spot on the team after leading the team in kills with 369 on the season along with a team-best 25 service aces. Nickel was second on the Rangers in both digs (242) and blocks (62). Her 3.88 digs per set average was third best in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2012, helping the Rangers (21-10, 10-8 GLVC) qualify for the conference tournament for the second consecutive season.

This is the second postseason honor in as many weeks for Nickel, who was named a First Team All-GLVC selection on Nov. 15.
